Course Description
A Master of Translation (Advanced) will equip you with the highly-developed analytical and written communication skills in English and a language of focus, which you need to succeed in professional translation, as well as intercultural competence and transferable skills that will prepare you to succeed in increasingly global, multilingual work environments. It is designed to provide students with a focused qualification in the fields of literary and technical translation, along with an understanding of the history of translation and an appreciation of many critical issues in the field.

Academic Requirements |
Applicants must present a Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 6.0/7.0; a successful assessment in the language of focus; and the approval of an identified supervisor for the thesis. The language of focus may be any of those listed under Program Requirements. Applicants must be able to demonstrate attainment of the Learning Outcomes in a major in their language of focus. This can be through demonstration of having completed a language major or Bachelors, at an Australian tertiary institution or its international equivalent, or of having language ability equivalent to the level attained by completion of a language major as determined by a language assessment conducted by an ANU staff member in the relevant language of focus. |
